In addition to creating hand-knitted, jointed teddy bears, I also knit rabbits and other critters, again, with the goal being that they do not look knitted.
The following are some of my latest rabbits:
![]() Rita Born: January 26, 2005 |
Meet Rita. She’s a very happy rabbit in Kool-Aid colors. Her ears and the carrot are made from hand-dyed wool using Kool-Aid.
Rita is made with GiGi, a funky novelty yarn. The colorful spots on her body will glow under a black light. Her coloring reminded
me of the book by Tom Wolfe,
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test,
first published in 1968. It is Tom Wolfe’s chronicle of Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters.
Rita is fully jointed (no pun intended), with green glass eyes, and embroidered mouth and nose. She stands about 5.5 inches tall. |
![]() Maggie Born: July 20, 2004 |
Maggie is made from hand-dyed cotton and silk chenille. Her paw pads and the insides of her ears are made from naturally colored, organic cotton. She is fully jointed and has black button eyes, and hand-embroidered nose, and mouth. Maggie stands about 9" high. |
